Caste based Reservation in India

This post is regarding the  CASTE BASED RESERVATION SYSTEM and  is not meant to hurt the sentiments of anyone.

CASTE BASED RESERVATION SYSTEM has received a mixed response from Indians since its inception(Positive from beneficiaries and negative from sufferers).
With the objective of ensuring a "level" playing field and diminishing the gap between the upper and lower castes by allowing the latter to enjoy more opportunities in the form of "Quotas"  in Government institutions, the QUOTA system came into being.

 Unfortunately, it reaffirms discrimination on the basis of caste. In present scenerio it could be termed as victory of "VOTE BANK POLITICS" over "MERIT BASED EVALUATION"

Question arises that is there a need for upliftment of downtrodden??
- Absolutely, there is. But reservation on the basis of CASTE is not the solution. There are many people from general caste(infact more in number) who need upliftment.

Does the discussion stops here??
- Absolutely No

Somehow someone may justify Caste based Reservation but surely  A few questions below are very hard to understand for many:

1)Why the hell is there a RESERVATION in promotion?
2) If a person has already enjoyed the benifit of Reservation, why the hell his next generation should get RESERVATION. Isn't his family already uplifted??
3) Why the hell should economically sound backward classes get reservation??

Social Injustice in the form of exploitation/untouchability was the reason for which RESERVATION came into existance. Although it has significantly declined but unfortunately it still exists. It is better for the politicians to curb this practice instead of securing their Votebanks.

To conclude here are the words of Wipro's Chairman Azim Premji :
* I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting
this. Let's start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an SC/ST/OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a SC/ST/OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An SC/ST/OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our SC/ST/OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an SC/ST/OBC player. Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an SC/ST/OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80
meters.

There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country.. )

Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country..)

Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward...
